Hurricane Irma: -Wind speeds of 185mph -Minimum central pressure of 926mbs. -Moving in a Westerly direction at 14mph. -Hurricane force winds extend out to 60miles from the center. -Tropical Storm force winds extend out to 160 miles from the center. -Tropical storm force winds are expected later this evening. -Gust to Hurricane force winds can be expected overnight into Wednesday - 6 – 12 inches of rainfall is possible and isolated maximum total of 16 inches -Storm surge of 3-9ft can be expected -Wave heights should peak at about 20ft. At 8pm Hurricane Irma is projected to be at 17.2 North 60.3 West or about 160 miles East of St. Kitts Nevis. At that point Hurricane Irma is likely to have wind speeds of about 180mph
Move out of flood prone areas. Boats should be beached and secured. Ensure loose debris is secured. Activate Hurricane preparedness and action plan NOW. Evacuate to Hurricane Shelters if you believe your home will be compromised.
